Welcome back from Spring Break!

To kick things back off we have Richard Gregg from Philips Healthcare coming in to speak of past and current work done by his group (Algorithms Group ). And the road he took as a NU Alumni to get where he is today. See flyer below.

Richard Gregg is a Principal Scientist at Philips Healthcare in Andover, MA. He lives in Westford Massachusetts with his wife Gail, who is a nurse practitioner, and his two daughters who attend Westford Academy.

Multiple generations of engineers in Rich’s family graduated from Northeastern University. While at NU, Rich majored in electrical engineering, and was president of the engineering fraternity, Beta Gamma Epsilon. Cooperative work experience at General Radio and MIT Lincoln Laboratory laid the foundation to launch his career in engineering. Rich went on to earn an MSEE from Tufts University in Medford, where he worked as a teaching assistant.

Rich has worked for over 20 years at Philips Healthcare and has cultivated an expertise in diagnostic cardiology. He started as an ultrasound systems test engineer when the healthcare division was part of Hewlett Packard. >From there, Rich worked as a software engineer on electrocardiographs, algorithm engineer for diagnostic electrocardiography, and was ultimately promoted to Principle Research Scientist last year.

During his tenure at Philips, Rich has authored 30 peer reviewed journal articles, 26 conference presentations and 4 granted patents.
